Championing Self-Supported Running Adventures and Sustainability

GOTCHA Run Community is a non-profit organisation dedicated to self-supported running adventures and sustainable living. We integrate sustainable principles into every aspect of our lives, both on and off the trail, advocating for meaningful change in our community.

Pushing Boundaries, Discovering Capabilities
Embracing Self-Reliance and Self-Motivation

Yes, someone may finish first, but for us, winning isn't the goal.

We start with a handshake and embark on a journey to push our own boundaries and discover what we're capable of.

Our events aren’t races—they’re reliability challenges. There are no entry fees, no prizes, no officials, and no ride leaders.

There’s also no external support—everything is done on our own.

This mindset of self-reliance, self-discovery, and self-motivation extends far beyond our runs. We choose the unconventional path, challenge the status quo, and demonstrate that sustainable living is achievable—if we’re willing to pursue it.

GOTCHA RC Round

A 'round' in GOTCHA Run Community is a unique event where members embark on a self-supported running challenge designed to test endurance, resilience, and self-sufficiency. Unlike traditional races, a round is not about competing against others but exploring your own limits while staying true to the community’s ethos of sustainability. Each round takes place in a carefully selected location, encouraging participants to embrace the journey, connect with the environment, and engage with fellow runners in a meaningful way. Participation in a round is about more than just completing the distance—it's about embodying the GOTCHA spirit of persistence, community, and responsible living.

GOTHA RC Focus Week

A 'Focus Week' in GOTCHA Run Club is a virtual event where members come together from their own locations to collectively work on a project that aligns with our commitment to sustainability. During these weeks, the entire community focuses on a specific challenge—such as a Commuter Week, where we encourage sustainable commuting habits, or a Clean Up Challenge, where members take action to clean up their local environments. These events are designed to unite us in purpose, amplifying our impact on the environment while reinforcing the values that define GOTCHA. By participating in a Focus Week, you’re not just running; you’re contributing to a larger movement for positive change.

Why GOTCHA?

We chose the name GOTCHA for our community club because it embodies the relentless spirit of perseverance that drives us. GOTCHA stands for "Get Out of The Chair Again," a slogan that the founder embraced during the grueling training for a Backyard Ultramarathon—a race where participants run a 4.1-mile loop on the hour, every hour, until only one remains. This name reflects the power of consistency, the determination to keep going, and the belief that real impact comes from repeated efforts, not just one-time actions. Just as sustainability requires ongoing commitment, GOTCHA is a reminder that every step forward, no matter how small, contributes to a greater purpose.
